upcoming events
I will be at the SCA event, Steirbach Holiday Faire, in Virginia. i am likely trying to save money by day tripping it (ick) so make sure you let me know if you want anything specific brought down. This is a huge shopping event, with loads of merchants and a good opportunity to get holiday presents. i hear they have other SCA related stuff...like fighting or something... i wouldn't know.
yes this event is opposite Philcon (Philadelphia Science Fiction Convention). yes that means i cannot go to Philcon this year... have fun for me, ok?
Thanksgiving will be spent with my parents out at their new place in Lancaster.
the weekend after Thanksgiving (black Friday through Sunday) i will naturally be at Darkover, in Maryland. Darkover is a convention that started based on the works of Marion Zimmer Bradly, and has become. ...well.....more like family reunion time, with merchants and a swimming pool.
of course the highlight of the event is the performance by Filk superstars: Clam Chowder. their concert benefits Childrens Hospital, and we raise thousands of dollars every year.
plus the shopping, never forget the shopping...
remember that with all the nasty recalls, and bad behavior by trade groups and governments, that buying stuff from LOCAL, merchants and handcrafters is always a good thing!
