with nothing but the most basic knitting skills you can make a very cool shawl.
start with 6 cast on stitches, and increase every row.. you get a triangle starting at the bottom point. stop when you get tired of it or its big enough. but yeah, cool isnt it?

pick a really nice colored yarn to knit together with the glow in the dark, or just knit it "as is"

woah - weird! I'd make something out of that - can't crochet very much more than an afghan but that'd be awesome on my bed.

it would be awesome on your bed...
but if you can crochet an afghan you can crochet a "shell" (sleeveless top) to wear, or a dog sweater, or a shawl also. none of them have much shaping to them......

i just think its too neat..
