update on wayne, servoce dog, etc
so wayne is now home... (they got him out faster than me partly because they had no beds left in cardiac.)
best guess right now?
diabetes (we knew that)
combined with hot weather (yup)
plus the interactions that SEVERAL of his meds can aggravate electrolyte imbalances and heat issues.
heart looks ok
the DOWN side is that the doctors more or less told him to avoid ANY and all exertion that could even REMOTELY raise his body temp or he will land in the ER again.

i called the patient advocate (who had heard something about the incident but was glad to get the details)
she is going work on further education issues.. and SHE had the head of security call me
who is talking about an in service on access and service dogs for all his security people, and apologized to me a lot.
oh, and what i did not know
apparently not long after i left the niuce nurse... Dennis? tracked down the Sergant and brought him back to hubby's ER bay to apologize to me
of course i was no longer there... but its nice they did that
