funny old world, isnt it?

i have been posting on freecycle.. and have had several people show up or call about stuff. all well and good.

so this fellow calls.. and he has one of those voices that just "sounds familiar" i would call it a "fannish" voice.
but the guy i associated with that voice.. well i remember his name, and this guys name is different.. ah well.

so they come over
and i say "you look awfully familiar"
and he says "well.. are you into SF?"
"i am on the work committe for Philcon"
...
we both step into better light and OHMYGOD I HAVENT SEEN YOU IN AGES!!!!

and then his friend walks up and its ANOTHER old Philcon/Gaylaxian/gamer geek...

we spent a lot fo time catching up on old times, getting back in touch, and making arrangements to talk recipes...
they are going to help clean up some stuff and probably get a TON of my old books.
i sadly found out that a few mutual friends had died....
probably people told me and i hadnt understood who they meant.

and they live NEARBY... well fairly... and i had NO IDEA

and one of them... teaches pistol marksmanship and self defense....
