ok, first of all, i am going to say this for the record:
the dog in this story was not being mean, or nasty, just playing too rough. i adore Pitt Bulls, but i dont always adore their handlers.
now admittedly Bella is a big dog who thinks she is a small dog sometimes... and yes she is not nearly as aggressive as typical for her breed.. AND I AM FINE WITH THAT.
so when a Pit Bull is getting too aggressive in his play, and i am trying to shoo him away from Bella... i would appreciate the owner helping to "break things up". not telling me to make BELLA leave the park because HER DOG wont leave mine alone.
Her Pittie kept grabbing the skin on Bella's face. i mean you could see him with a mouthful of Bella and her skin being pulled on.
was the dog being vicious? no, he was playing.. but BELLA wasn't happy, and she kept trying to get behind me or wayne and trying to run away from him.
i kept trying to get the other dog to leave her alone. at one point more or less putting my hand in his mouth to keep him from grabbing Bella again.
(and if i had even for a moment thought the dog was mean you KNOW i wouldn't have done that)
so.. does the owner help?
no, she asks if i want to "take Bella out of the park" (no i want you to take your dog to another area and leave mine alone)
"oh hes really very friendly"
yes, but he is playing to rough and he is PULLING her face!
"oh she could destroy him if she wanted to"
BING BING BING
yes she could
and the next thing that happens is she is permanently retired as a service dog and possibly impounded/killed as a dangerous dog.
you
idiot
human
so to the idiot human in the dog park? thanks for risking my dog's life by refusing to deal with your dog before a real problem starts. luckily for you this city is VERY Pit Bull friendly, because you are setting that poor dog up for a disaster, and i don't want MINE going down with it.
and suggesting that the solution is my dog being aggressive at your dog?
try getting a stuffed dog next time
