since we have been doing more exercise, wayne's blood sugar has been much better!
this is a good thing
i hadnt realized, but the last time i had a girl dog was when i was ten. Ever since its been boy dogs. i kept wondering what was wrong with her that she wasnt PEEing on everything when we went on the walks??!!! lol.
also, strange dogs seem to like her (that "not a boy" thing i guess.) i am so used to neighborhood dogs hating my dog.
poor groucho (cat) finally got coaxed out, ate a little bit and fled. he has been having the worst of it. Frosty stares and growls and fluffs up and scares BELLA.. Baby has decided its terrifying but can be outwitted, Trouble is avoiding her (with BIG eyes)... Small Kidd doesnt care, but when her head came too close he wacked her a good one. Shlemiel ignored her unless she was in the way, then she got rubbed right across the face.
she is still very uncertain. doesnt really come when called, but FOLLOWS me...no one ever taught her sit, down, come, or anything.. at least not in English! and she didnt "get" sit even with the classic "pull up on leash while gently pushing on rear" just horribly confused (and yes she can and will sit on her own, so its not an inability) i will simply have to work on "GOOD! SIT!" whenever she does it herself. i suspect she had NO training at all. my ability to walk her is probably from the walks at the spca and basic underlying god temperment.
i am so used to dogs that are strongly food motivated that i am a bit at a loss here....
also. i have NEVER had a dog that didnt like raw egg. ever. BELLA WOULDN'T eat it! i guess she wants it scrambled. she looked hungry at our plates....
we need to get her non diet food. max was on a diet, she needs to put ON weight.
and according to her records, her intake at the PSPCA was back in MAY of this year. she was held for some time because she was a court case.. but still.. no WONDER the poor girl is confused.
her fur was "thin and matted" on intake, (it takes WORK to matt her coat) and she was underweight.. with recent puppies at that time.
