Colllege Blog: pardon me while i scream now

you know.. i really, seriously, thought this was a LOGIC class, not an Ethics and modern society/sociology class.
funny
its LISTED as a logic class on my syllabus.....

so. today was half review for the midterm, and half regular class.
ahem
if regular class translates as having to argue about mental illness.

rule one: do not tell us to debate whether we agree or disagree with an article we have to read, and then berate us for having the wrong answers, or tell us that this or that thing about mental illness is the case.
and especially do not tell me that because depression cannot be seen in the same way as a tumor that its not an illness.

that depression, schizophrenia, and aspegers are all "problems with living" but not illnesses, whereas a brain tumor or a lesion is an illness.

and spend the entire class arguing this point.
and when i disagree, politely but repeatedly, tell me that i would be diagnosed with "defiant oppositional disorder"

then state that this has *something* to do with the power of the state to compel treatment, and next week we will be going over Bell V Buck.

so what part of this is a logic class?

logic, ptsd, teachers, depression, human rights, school, idiots, mental illness, college
