we have identified an issue with wayne's diabetes management. it isnt the whole story, of course.. but its an *issue*
his two meters are giving WILDLY different readings. like over 80 points different from one stick.
his test solution has expired so we have to get more, i am trying to convince him to go into the doctors in the morning and get a "official" blood test so we have some idea whats going on.
when he called the doctor they said they couldn't see him today, and he already has an appt for next week, which is the soonest they can see him (this was before we found out about the different numbers) but i don't feel he was explicit enough about the problem.
obviously now it gets even more difficult to know how much insulin he should take.....
so for any of you folks with sugar meters.... make sure you have test liquid, on hand, not expired! and test your meters regularly.
