a pirate's life for me... well, a pirate event anyway
so, went to the pirate event in Tom's River...
it was pretty neat! pity about the cold and wind, you all know how much cold and wind and i do not mix.
so other than freezing my rear off.....and forgetting my bag of garb at home, and it being too windy to set up a nice looking booth.....and the van problem... and the wind blowing everything over.. and wayne and i both being ill from the cold...
oh. yeah, now that we dont have a second car. the van felt left out and decided to have its rear (cargo) door stop working. to be specific, it wont unlock.
i spent most of last night in the back of the van, having crawled over my merchandise, perched in there with a flash light trying to figure out how to open it. my knees were most unhappy.
wayne spent most of the event inside the van (we emptied it mostly from the side doors) trying to figure it out. we finally managed to open the back of the van, but it required cutting a hole in the inside panel and manually releasing the lock.
apparently the "unlock" signal from the electronics is no longer getting there, and we don't know why.
other than that, which is all on our side, not the event, it was a good event. i didn't make much money, but made some, and everyone had a good time, and the entertainment was very good. i will certainly give it another try next year if i can.
