i am currently procrastinating because the air quality is AWFUL out there and i dont wanna load the van....
sigh
anyway...
so today i took my regularly scheduled quizzes in art history 2 and in introduction to textiles and Fibers
(so far so good in both, although i am still SCREAMING that i missed an answer in last weeks textiles quiz.. grrrrrrr... i know in most topics a "A 94" would be fine, but... but... it was on WOOL for Gd's sake!!!!)
and then I took NEXT weeks quiz for textiles and fibers, which my teacher kept trying to talk me out of, i suspect because she thought i wouldn't have time to study or something.
honestly! i figured i would do better right after we covered the material than a week and a half of Pennsic later!
no problem there, 100%, even though it was on man made fibers which is not my strong suit. we have a quiz on color and dying when i get back....and since thats modern/factory dye methods i dont already know it.
i really wonder whats up with the other people in that class... the material seems clear enough.. i suppose its just that , well, i LIVE fibers and textiles so asking me what a "warp" and "weft" are is just......obvious.
but i just ACED the test on man made fibers, which i really knew nothing about previously... and the other students were all like "this is hard!" at the notes.
are words like "solvents" and "polymer" that difficult?
and from the good to the really awful.....
ok, that effective speaking class?
the first two quizzes i was the "curve buster" with over 100 % after the curve was calculated.
unless EVERYONE in class pretty much barfs on this recent (Monday) quiz, i am in big trouble.
it was on , among other things, phonetics. he gave us a word, now try to remember what the symbol for the underlined sound is... oh yes and give the other word from the hand out that uses this sound.
Bzzzzzzzzt!
symbols and memorization are my two weakest points. there is the dyscalculia for you.
my only hope on it is that i saw a few papers being handed in with what looked like big blank areas in that section....so if EVERYONE does badly on it the curve might let me keep my grade up.
and i took the next week's midterm today after the two normal classes (and three quizzes)
head, meet desk
my brain just blanked
i knew this stuff, right up until i saw the test.
i mean, i know labeling diagrams is another weak spot but i should have KNOWN that stuff
i can only hope that the multiple choice section, the T/F section and the extra credit question carry me through on it....
which means now i HAVE to get the rest of the extra credit done.
sigh.
stress, thy name is summer quarter
so i am trying to get packed and out to Pennsic as early as i can. the weather here isnt helping. its hard to breath outside and i havent gotten much done. most of it will have to wait until the sun sets which is just NOT what i wanted.
i have a lot more set up to do before i can open up shop once i get there too, sigh.
i did however get a LARGE number of new pendants in!
seriously..... some gorgeous labradorite, more small inexpensive "good gift for the pet sitter" pendants, etc.
i have three babe wheels, got in some silk and linen thread stock, am well stocked on pearls and other beads...
now all i need is customers!
so, is it in poor taste to grab people off the walkways and remind them i went back to school and need money?
it is?
dmn.
well please think profitable thoughts for me.
