college blog: London, help needed

Apr 09, 2010 15:55

so, sorry about missing yesterdays post but i was busy...

anyway.
i had my "overview of fashion" class, with Ms/ Mahar on Thursday. She is FABULOUS! i adore her to death already...
anyone who mentions different styles of clothing in different societies, and discusses Hermes scarves in her first class is automatically cool... the fact that her class sounds informative and fun is a plus! (i thin i learned more about sales in the intro class than i learned in two years DOING sales, too..
but i digress....

part of the grade is a project where we pick a "fashion capitol" and prepare a group report (each person does one part of the city/fashion life)

now, in all honesty i am really prepared to do a report on Tokyo.... i mean, i collect Kimonos, and i have all the Gothic and Lolita Bibles, etc etc.....
but i am doing London.

partly because there are like 18 people doing Tokyo, and three of us interested in London... partly because i think its a bit more of a challenge for me to do.
partly because Saville Row is the last bastion of bespoke tailoring
partly because accessories are still king, queen and crown prince in London, hats .. shoes....

so..... all knowledge is contained in fandom and livejournal.....
HELP!
i need web links, pictures, shop names, information.. anything you can provide about the fashion world in London. pictures that i can use in class especially....

street fashion shots?
good images of saville row suits?
maps?
links to good shops?
harrods shopping bag? (ok, you can't email that)

anything i can get to spark this report up the way i COULD have done a Tokyo,Japan report...

lolita, harrods, bespoke tailoring, japan, haute couture, school, fashion, london, college
