Scratching that itch, part 2 (plus college)
this is me....
ok, so by morning i was agitated, nervous, irritable and itchy as all get out, but that was at 7 am... its now almost ten and its bearable....i feel calmer and while i still itch i dont feel like tearing my skin off.
at 7 i looked like i was coming down with small pox on my arms, itty bitty blisters... plus welts. wayne says the welts (even then) were thinner, less raised, and less notable.
but if i left off the discipline and scratched, well.. i raised red welts like mad.
i called the doctor, they were supposed to call me back with "can i take more anti histamine before i come in or do you need a clean blood test" but they havent yet.... i have a "squeeze me in" appt for 2 pm.
i was supposed to be at work 12-9
argh!
people have suggested some causes of the allergies, my own personal suspicions include : bugs (spiders, for some of the deeper wounds i have had previously, cockroaches in general), dust mites, bed bugs, and mice droppings/urine.
i already know i am allergic to bunny and mouse urine from when i had them as pets.. i have also seen mice in the warehouse, and as wayne says "all those nice comfy cardboard tubes...."
last evening, when i had the worst reaction... we had gotten in some remnants and short bolts form various fabric companies in NY.. and part of what i was doing "in my copious spare time" (which i had since it wasnt busy that evening) was pulling them out and folding them for the remnant table. it occurs to me that a postal canvas bin full of random fabrics is good mouse habitat, but the fabrics could also be loaded with almost anything.
for the record, we do not generally buy "fresh imports". we buy stuff as oddlots and overstocks USUALLY. so if a designer orders 50,000 yards made up, and uses 40,000 we are one of the people buying that leftover 10,000.... that is now maybe two years old. we have lining fabric that says "ferre" and "isaac mizrah" and "Donna Karan" for example..... so none of it is "right off the import boat" that i know of, but it has all been in various warehouses for who knows how long, plus ours.

i am stupid and easily confused, apparently. i had it set in my head that my school started April 28th.

it starts April 5th, THIS Monday. the Monday after Easter, the Monday i already have work scheduled? that Monday. and orientation was supposed to be THIS Thursday (aka tomorrow) but i may be able to take it next Saturday instead....
i can get my schedule for this semester as soon as i pay them the first months fees....
but i obviously cannot go to school until i get them the money.
so i have to run downtown, put my first months fees on a credit card (ouch) and then run back to the doctors... and try to figure out whats going on....... while re scheduling work around whatever my schedule is....
AAAAAAAAARGH!

if any of you wanted to buy pearls, i just ordered a few kilos and had them in JUST in time for ICON. nice stuff. decent prices. 5-8 dollars a string, plus i got more of the sewn together pearl balls...
also i finally have Prehnite beads in round 5-6 mm. Its a pale sherbet-y green, very spring color. (seals the aura from leakage, drains, etc, supposedly.. many of my customers swear by it) its not cheap, but i have it on sale right now for 20 bucks a string.
