the state of the Fabric Dragon

so, to recap:

The Fabric Dragon business has been slow, money wise (several events which NEVER lose money, have lost money)... so i got a "day job" at a fabric place i know and love. (JoMar) i am just not so happy with the standing on the concrete all day part. It does mean my weekend events will be cut down to "things that don't cost me too much" and "things i am certain about" as well as "stuff i already paid to get into".

I am applying for admission at The Art Institute of Philadelphia, for a major in fashion design. their program looks fabulous, very small classes, internships to drool over, etc..... unfortunately they are NOT well set up for non traditional students, and want me to prove that my grade point average of 26 years ago wont make me a bad student. this is annoying. still i shall overcome, i know people with degrees.. i know people who can honestly say they have dealt with me as a merchant for ten years... i think that should cover "reliable".

It is Lent. i am doing pretty well on the no candy, not great on the "vegetarian" (but have kept to vegetarian most days) and blew the "i wont miss Mass on Sunday" already.. i thought i would make it home in time to go to the last service on Sunday after Non Con (which is 10 pm at St Agatha and St James in University City) i got home at 9:15, and was not fit to drive anymore.

Housecleaning got put off a bit again, but since i tend to do well with a regular schedule, i should be able to schedule cleaning more reliably with my new work schedule. i have kept the kibble at bay, but i haven't made much improvement. i did scrub the tub and bathroom sink. Nothing was getting the combination soap scum/hard water stains and dirt out, not even bleach, but the baking soda as scouring powder got most of it, and a vinegar rinse loosened the rest of it, so at least my bathtub is clean looking again....

I have taken up Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter Eggs). The kind you make with wax resist and multiple levels of dye. i had tried it before but it never really "clicked" until the class i took at the SCA event in Bright Hills this last time. so i got more supplies and am going to make a lot of pretty eggs with significant designs on them.
also i told my mother that i would loan her some Pysanky to decorate "her" section of the public area in her retirement community at Willow Valley. so i bought more eggs.

speaking of eggs:
