Buying Gifts for Guys

Dec 13, 2006 13:17

This post is aimed at women who need to buy presents for guys.....good luck.

Buying for men is easier than you might think.  Most men like:

1.      Things you set on fire.

2.       Things that make noise.

3.        Things that are sharp, or you could hurt yourself with, like heavy rocks. (Knives, swords, rocks, some statues)

4.      Things that need electricity.

I am of the opinion that this explains the whole power tool thing pretty well.

5.   Sex. (umm... I don't suggest buying this one, but you could buy a book on the Kama Sutra )

No, seriously, that’s all; unless they have a hobby or something.

Gift Cards for Men
Men generally think more highly of Gift Certificates than women do.  They really do NOT think of Gift Certificates as a cop-out.

HONEST! They don’t; I know it’s weird.

Some Gift Ideas for the truly stuck...

Seriously, Gift cards.. i know WE think they are kind of a cop out, but most guys do not.

Foot massage thingies.  (those electric foot rub machines? guys who work on their feet a lot love em.. same idea for a foot bath thing, but some guys think the addition of water makes it too girlie)

Socks.  The real deal.  top quality, really spiffy socks (most guys want them in boring dress sock colors, live with it).  a lot of guys go ape for this. For some reason the top quality mens socks cost about as much as a good dinner.

If they are a LARGE guy go get them the very rare "oversized sock" from a place like Vermont Country store... www.vermontcountrystore.com

(If you knit i guarentee hand knit socks will be a real hit! and especially dress socks.  for some reason these go over better even than sweaters with most guys)

If your guy is a foodie type? buy him spice blends he cant get in a store... i suggest www.auntiearwenspices.com and if he likes hot stuff go wild! but her "Sin Sin Cinnimun Sugar" is devine on toast.  (in the interest of free disclosure the shop owner is one of my best friends)

And lastly, on the "sex" interest side... buy a vacation package someplace.  it can be a night out in a bed and breakfast near you. or a weekend at a hotel with a great Golf Course if he likes Golf... but grit your teeth and put up with any of his hobbies for this one.. pack the most draft inducing lingerie ou can.

feel free to cross post this just link it back to me, ok?
