This weekend is the second (and last for this year) weekend of the
Midsummer Renaissance Fair in Lehighton (near Jim Thorpe Pa). you should come and say hi. we have some of the best merchants. (grin) if you cant come, but you know anyone who can.. pass word along...
its on the same exit off the Northeast Extension of the Turnpike as the Pocono Speedway, for those of you that know Nascar......
i just got my shipment of earring parts in that i was waiting for, so i plan on taking my tools and making cheap inexpensive earrings..... lots and lots of inexpensive earrings.
speaking of which, i will have a small number of fabu earrings made by the children of a friend of mine.. (who are obviously extremely talented and very observant... they liked me and they make great jewelry) i foresee competition in the jewelry making department in a couple of years....
said friend very kindly put me up at her house .........
The thing to remember is that Mercury has been in Retrograde for a bit and has JUST come out of it (i think anyway)... i plan on blaming the entirety of last month on that!
i ordered some Babe Spinning wheels and some were drop shipped right to the buyers but two were delivered to ME because "i am going to be going down to see her anyway real soon now..."
sh'ya..... riiiiight.
car trouble
illness
exhaustion
different car trouble
so two UNOPENED boxes of spinning wheels have been sitting in my Living Room for a bit.. (yes the unopened is important here)
meanwhile i had promised to make the wedding bouquets for a friend of mine.. silk florals... a main bouquet, a "to be thrown" bouquet... and a bouquet for each of the bridesmaids. so that meant finding the flowers.. and matching the colors sight unseen (renaissance type wedding, with each of the three in different colored gowns) so the bride's bouquet was almost all white with some blue florals.... (wisteria, i like wisteria) and the other two were gold/yellow.... and purple /lavender... so i ended up buying all white flowers (except the wisteria) and hand painting them
yes, i hand painted the bouquets.. yes i am nuts... yes this was a friend of mine... yes she paid me for the supplies.
so..... do i SHIP four crushable hand painted bouquets?
no, of course not..... i want to drive them down to her (very near Washington DC)
and the spinning wheels have to go down to West Virginia...
why... Washington DC is sort of on route, isnt it?
uh huh. i drove to Washington Dc just at rush hour.... and then across the beltway and down to W Va...... because clearly i am insane.
so... after i get there... we unpack the spinning wheels.........
remember these were ordered and packed during the start of mercury retrograde and have sat here UNCHECKED the entire time. because i was afraid if i opened them i would lose parts.....
so naturally there were a few problems.... one of which appears to be that i *somehow* ordered a wrong thing..... which explains why it didnt line up with what we expected... and also one part wasnt shipped.........
so i spent a lot of this morning on the phone trying to fix that.
and in there we made earrings with the kids
and i got taken out to see sheep.
and then i drove home.. in the pouring rain, overcast grey nasty rush hour again traffic......with people who should NEVER have been given their license to drive.
but i am home and alive and just have to get up tomorrow at .. uh.... 6 am to get to the faire early enough to set up.
so, since i have to place another Babe order (and it is no longer mercury retrograde and he doesn't have an order of 300 wheels shipping out at the same time) i am once again offering the 25% off any
Babe's Fiber Garden order..... not counting books.....
