Mercury retrograde rant
Mercury goes direct on November 18th...I can hold out until then, can't I?
Some of you know that I tend to get hit by mercury retrograde in the time leading up to the actual turning point, and then it settles during the retrograde itself. This is true… but that doesn’t mean I get off easy. You see while my phone will break before retrograde, and my car’s tires will need to be replaced just before retrograde (they did) during retrograde I am still dealing with communication problems, and everyone else’s retrograde issues as well!
Lets have a few examples shall we?
To get things started with the whole retrograde thing: A large Samhain ritual took place on Saturday, just after Mercury went retrograde, so I am still getting hit full on. The HPS running this was also a Virgo, ruled by mercury, and SHE is getting hit full on. The HPS was using electronic sound equipment in the ritual as well…need I even tell you that the ritual was not one of the most pleasant I have been to? My ears were still ringing days later.
So now about today....
I realized the credit card that has room on it had expired. I cannot find the new card, and I need to use it to make a payment. The lady I try to talk to, asking whether I got the new card or not, decided to hit the “lost card” button, and now I have to wait seven days for the new card with the new number and expiration date, before I can use the card. Remember I called because I needed to use that card right away.
UPS has been having billing problems, and I can’t even blame this one all on mercury retrograde. Here is the story: I shipped 10 boxes to Coopers’ Lake Campground for the Pennsic War (www.pennsicwar.org), back in August, and it cost me big time! They were supposed to be shipped back home after Pennsic the same way, but I sent them back home by FedEx, which was cheaper. I called UPS and cancelled the pick up at my Pennsic storage locker, so UPS never touched the boxes on the way back home, because I sent them home by another carrier…. Are you with me so far? So when I finally get my bill, there is a huge charge to ship 10 boxes to Slippery Rock, PA (correct)…AND a huge bill to ship 10 boxes from Slippery Rock back to Philadelphia…. (Whoops!) So I call and they go “whoops! We’ll fix that, sorry!” and I figure that’s the end of it… Except they keep calling up with bills for it, and then saying, “sorry, we’ll fix it.” Guess who called with a dunning notice today? Right! UPS, with a bill for shipping 10 boxes … from the storage locker, to the storage locker! It took me many hours on the phone today to try to get across to them that 1. I never shipped those boxes on that date. This is a mistaken bill, and 2. That you should know that if the bill says “shipped from ___ to the same location there is some kind of error! Not to mention 3. This is the third or fourth time you guys have said you would fix this!
This has been my day so far, and I still have to pack for an SCA event on Saturday, and haven’t even unloaded the van so I can re-load it!
So, how is everyone else dealing with mercury retrograde this time around? Oh, yeah.. any bets on those fancy pants new electronic voting machines surviving their first run during the election, which is in Mercury retrograde?
