First off, get thy veteran to the San Diego military bases. The Navy base has almost constant openings and his/her Veteran status makes for priority hiring.

Granted, its a really long application but once you are hired by the military as a civilian there's wonderful benefits.

How do I apply at the Naval Base? I can get there by mass transit, so that's a plus. However I have no idea how to start the process.

Can't say how all bases are figured out, but generally you've got two options I KNOW about.

1. MWR usually has the applications for the base jobs. Go in and ask. Ours has an actual resource center that handles this.

2. Which leads me to the second option, www.usajobs.gov which is where they advertise some, but not all, of the jobs.

I know the post is locked, but feel free to copy and spread around, right now is the time for it to be put to good use.

And a friend of mine from work who lives in Warrenton VA is looking for an Office Manager position, if anyone has one available.

My company is almost always hiring for one position for another. We have offices in Gainesville, FL, Atlanta, GA, and, uh, Marietta, GA?

I'm still looking for writing, editing, proofreading, or clerical/office work, in the central New Jersey area (note: no car or driver's license so must be accessible by bus or train).
