So today I got the bright idea to start writing down a few ideas I've had since reading HBP.
Anyhow, one of them is a drabble that I posted at
snape100, and the other is a slightly longer expansion of that idea. Posting the short first.
Severus bent over his cauldron, his pallid face reflecting an eerie, luminous green. It was a vile poison, a nasty bit of work that challenged his wits, his skills, and even his morals.
A low, pulsing string of Latin flowed from his lips and he lifted his wand to his chest. As he chanted the incantation, a shadowy black vapour seeped out of his breastbone. The substance flowed down to the surface of the poison, dancing upon it until it bonded and turned a fluorescent green.
He examined it closely.
It was a different shade of green than he’d expected.
