Thanksgiving Weekend

So I'm not sure how many of you are aware of this, but my grandmother lives in New Jersey. At least once a year, the fam makes an effort to go and see her, and this year we decided to do it at Thanksgiving. Mother, however, predicting potential family blow-ups (which is common--my grandmother is an overly-emotional Russian suffering from paranoia and my father is an overly sensitive son prone to alcohol desensitization), scheduled us a nice break in NYC on Black Friday. We went to see Martin Short's show, "Fame Becomes Me", in the afternoon.

So a breakdown of the weekend:
-The food was great. I can't get enough of kielbasy.
-Shopping in NYC was loads of fun. I love Anthropologie. If I had enough money, I would build my wardrobe out of the clothing in that store.
-Rockefeller Center Christmas was cool, but the tree makes me sad. It's so big, and they cut one down every year just to decorate it for Christmas. It makes the tree hugger in me scream. I realize that the tree is made into mulch for boy scouts and another hunk goes to an equestrian jump, but I still don't think that it's very cool.
-Martin Short is a little man. And sort of funny. The show was all right--it made me laugh in parts. I especially enjoyed Jiminy Glick, and some of the other cast members were wonderful at impressions, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it again.
-Englishtown is always fun to walk around. I bought socks. Woo.
-My Baba (grandma) has a lot of junk (as in knick-knacks) in the house. LOTS. I'll see if I can scan a picture at some point. She has one room filled solely with dolls. We were locking each other in there to see how long you could last without feeling the eyes on you and having your skin start to prickle.

That's it, really. If I think of anything else that is semi-interesting, I'll update later.
