I can't help it. The Burt/Carole and the Finn/Kurt just outshined everything else for me to the point I didn't care about it. I'm a sucker for Dork Dad Dancing.
Sam is such a douche. I liked him originally, now he makes me want to scroll over his scenes. I mean, seriously. That whole "Dude, I still wanna be your friend, but I'm totally gonna pinch your Season One Finnawesome, yo."
And just to play slight Devil's Advocate in Finn's defense... I think it was overall just a matter of him basically not realising how bad Kurt's situation with Karofsky had gotten. Finn's known for his obliviousness, he gets around with his head in the clouds a lot of the time, or in clouds no one else's heads are in.
I didn't see him as "reverting" to what he was in Season 1, I just saw him running up the back of the group as a whole trying to figure out what was going on. By the time the penny dropped, shit was in the process of hitting the fan again. The Kurt/Finn wedding dance and sing scene wouldn't have been as poignant if they didn't revisit a little of Finn's awkwardness about the whole situation.
JUST KIDDING, this is actually a good point. It wasn't so much the content that bothered me, I think it was the way I know people are going to react about it. For some reason, Finn isn't really widely regarded as being popular...which is why I don't get the same love, because he is literally Finn 2.0.

This is entirely accurate, it made it so much more earnest and heartfelt.
I think the bit I didn't like was the overkill of unnecessary "OMG WHY WEREN'T YOU STANDING UP FOR KURT?!" crap. It should have come from Burt, and maybe a bit from Carole, but not from all the girls trying to urge Finn to belt Karofsky up. Finn just looked dazed when they were trying to railroad him into this, and I think when he said to Kurt about why didn't they talk about it was spot on. But Kurt is just running scared. He hasn't been close enough to Finn to think to go to him as a first port of call for advice... he's too used to going it alone.
People forget they have only JUST heard about Burt and Carole getting married. This is the first point Finn and Kurt have had to think of each other as brothers. Finn needed time to process it, and then he needed to stop and see just how bad things for Kurt had gotten.
Exactly! Everyone was attacking Finn albeit Kurt, and I think that's ridiculous. If Kurt had outwardly said, "Finn, can you help", Finn would have done it, but otherwise how was he supposed to know? He literally just found out about his mom getting remarried - which was an issue I feel they should have explored instead of being like, oh, well, he'll get over it, ONWARD WITH THE WEDDING.
That is what screamed out to me as the main issue, not Kurt and his sexuality. Finn has dealt with that, and he and Kurt have their own unique way of interacting. They have an understanding. But it was Carole getting remarried I thought was the wavering point. Kurt, bless him, was just all OMGWEDDINGHAPPYYESPLEASE! but I think he understood what Finn was feeling.
