femslash_land . I got the koala prompt.
“Artie, look at what my auntie sent me from Australia! I’m naming him Koala.”
“It’s a stuffed kangaroo. Why are you calling him Koala?”
“Well, I was watching the Discovery Channel last night, and they were talking about how there’s an animal native to Australia, called a kangaroo or a koala. So I decided to give it its other name. ”
“Brittany, they are different animals. A kangaroo and a koala are two animals native to Australia, but they are not the same.”
“Yes they are! I’m right, I know I’m right! My sources are always correct!”
“Brittany! That is such a stupid thing to say! You know that it’s wrong!”
Santana Lopez watched this interaction from her side of the room, and sighed internally. What Artie was saying was true, and he did need to correct Brittany, but he was doing it all wrong. He needed to let her down gently, using a kind tone of voice instead of just arguing back a response.
Santana kept her mouth shut. Brittany had said she loved Artie; she had chosen him over her.
But Santana hated watching them. She hated seeing Artie do all these things wrong, and she hated that all Brittany did was back down and say sorry.

It was raining outside. It was pouring with rain and the wind was howling.
Santana watched the rain smash against the window during her last period Algebra class, letting the monotone voice of her teacher wash over her like a wave.
But she was soon snapped out of her trance as she saw a blurry blonde figure stumbling across the parking lot. Santana immediately knew it was Brittany. Who else would wear shorts and a singlet in that weather?
“Mr. Maunder, could I please be excused?”
“And why on this Earth would you want to do that Miss Lopez?”
Santana gave a slight shrug. “It’s that time of month.”
She would pay for that embarrassing lie later, but she had gotten out of class, and that was what mattered.
Before the Latino girl knew it, she was out in the rain, running towards the tall blonde. It was freezing. Santana grabbed Brittany and yelled over the loud rain to see if she was okay.
The other girl nodded weakly, and with that Santana hustled her to shelter under the school arch.
“What were you thinking?”
“I dropped Koala somewhere in the car park this morning; I was just trying to find him…”
Whatever else Brittany had to say was unintelligible because her teeth were chattering so hard.
Santana rubbed Brittany’s arms, trying and trying to get her warm but she still shivered.
Santana knew the next step was to hold Brittany and try and give her some of her body heat, but she resisted. The brunette had promised to wean herself off of Brittany; her heart had been broken and Santana didn’t want to be hurt anymore. But she was like an addict; Brittany was there and Santana couldn’t stop herself.
So Santana embraced Brittany, holding her so close and breathing in the scent of her hair. They fit together so effortlessly, and it made Santana feel so good.
She had no idea who started it, but suddenly her hands were in Brittany's hair and they were melting into each other and Brittany's tongue was in her mouth and she was sighing into the kiss and she was straddling her against the wall and Santana was so happy that she could die. They definitely weren't cold anymore.
"I thought you weren't cheating on me."
The two girls broke apart. Artie Abrams was sitting there, glaring at them from his wheelchair. "How could you do this to me? How could you betray me like this?!"
"Oh my gosh Artie! I'm so sorry!"
"I thought you were better than that, Brittany." And then Artie wheeled away, and Brittany got up and followed, and without saying a word to Santana, she left her in the cold.

The next day Brittany Pierce opened her front door to find a stuffed kangaroo with a note attached to it. The girl recognized the Latino's cursive script.
"I found your freaking Koala. I hope you’re happy."
