Notes: For nakeisha. Un-betaed. Not the best piece of NCIS fiction out there, I'm sure, but I had a lot of fun writing it. \o/
Part 4:
Gibbs was in his basement working on his new boat. He paused for a moment to drink some tepid coffee.
“Ya know, you should put in a coffee machine down here. Then you wouldn’t have to drink that crap,” said a voice from behind Gibbs.
“How did you get in here?” asked Gibbs as he turned around.
“Hello! I’m Death. I can pretty much to whatever I want,” said Death.
“I’m still not dead. Why do you keep bothering me?”
Death grinned. “ ‘Cause it is so much fun.” Death turned serious for a moment. “I’ve been listening to your conversations with Ducky.”
Gibbs glared at Death. “You leave Ducky alone!”
“Nah, he’s cool. I was listening mostly because you were talking about me. And I like that, really. But, before you finish telling your story, we need to talk.”
“About what?”
“Somethings can’t be mentioned. Like my bros or The Boss’ Son. You get my drift? Also, don’t mention that I, ya know, lost some files.”
“Why?”
Death looked around and gulped. “My Boss has a little bird demon that tells him things about my job. Especially files.”
Gibbs looked suspicious. “Fine. I won’t mention any of those things. Good-bye now.”
“Geez. You are grouchy.” Death turned to leave. “Oh! I almost forgot. Brad made you cookies. Here.” Death held out a plate of cookies. “They’re oatmeal raisin.”
Gibbs looked at the plate of cookies. He then grabbed it. “Tell Brad thanks. Now get out. I don’t want to see you again.”
Death smirked. Then he smiled. “Sure Gibbs. You won’t see me until it’s time.” Death left Gibbs to contemplate that smile.
“I don’t trust that kid,” said Gibbs. “I don’t trust him at all.”
