Vacation

I am on vacation, yes, non-existent readers; I have a whole week off. On top of that, I am switching back to day shift.
I have been working 10PM to 7AM setting displays since mid November.
Now I will have a normal (read insanely varied) schedule instead. I will have 5AM to 2PM shifts again. Plus I will close the store on Saturdays. (Oops, I think I actually asked for that) This means, my dear friends, that I will leave at close to midnight.
Sigh, the joys of working retail books.
The good thing is that I tend to get more knitting done when my schedule is irregular. When I get up at the same time every day I mostly just knit at church. Three hours non-stop a week. Ah, so it’s a part time hobby.
When I can figure out how I will post a gallery of UFOs, RFOs and UBOs. (UnFinished, RecentlyFinished and UnBegun Objects respectively.)
I actually finished my first sweater for me. (I already made two tiny practice ones for my very tiny niece.) It is lacy, made out of worsted weight yarn in natural grey. Yes, I do know worsted and lacy don't normally go together. It works, I promise. The yarn is Cascade Ecological which comes in half pound skeins. I made a size 26W sweater with just two. Seriously, I think the buttons weigh more than the sweater does.
Well, I am currently procrastinating the cleaning of my room.
I must now explain that you could lose yourself in the mess I call my room. I have enough stuff in my room to spread out into a whole apartment and it would still be crowded together.
I stash yarn, of course, but I also obsessively collect books. In addition to that, I have a large collection of ceramic objects. Most of those are left over from my art school days, when I could trade with willing classmates. However, I am still collecting semi-local pieces at craft shows. Of course this doesn't take into account the non-ceramic vessels I have begun collecting as well. I specifically like interesting handmade wood grain intensive pieces. Oh, and mortar and pestle sets, all sorts, but especially stone ones with interesting stone patterns.
All of this brings me back to the thought that I really should go dust them all off (while the mess is cleared enough that I can reach them) Not to mention that mountain of laundry piled onto my bed. Sigh.
