Not that I have an angry Vagina or anything but I loved this particular monologue.

My vagina's angry. It is. It's pissed off. My vagina's furious and it needs to talk. It needs to talk about all this shit. It needs to talk to you. I mean what's the deal - an army of people out there thinking up ways to torture my poor-ass, gentle loving vagina. Spending their days constructing psycho products, and nasty ideas to undermine my ( Read more... )

I'd thought some more on this. Do you think it would have a sizeable, positive effect if women at large could wear pleasure-inducing undergarments?

I asked my cousin ashli if she thought so, she said she thinks it would have a positive affect on people period.
I concur.
If Women are happy then men are happy. lol
I know I would be happy in a soft cotten pair of knickers that vibrated when I pushed a button.

Hmmm, mayhaps you should look into one of those companies that helps people patent ideas.

Btw, would you say there's an invariable trade-off when it comes to comfort versus perceived attractiveness in women's clothing?

Another thought; I keep thinking of the Julianne Moore line in Big Lebowski about how some men are uncomfortable "hearing the very mention of the word" vagina even if they freely discuss their own endowments. On the one hand, this makes sense (few are surprised or terribly aghast if a guy can't take feminine hygiene discussions) but I also thought; come on! We're supposed to be the raunchier sex!

My friend Sheryl and I were talking about the monologues and I live in a house with 3 men who all had about 2 male friends over at the time, one by one the dropped out of the room like flies. I could hear them in the kitchen saying when asked "I dunno, they're having girltalk" Sheryl and I had a laughing Fit over this. Just because we said the word vagina more then once, to them, ment it was girl talk. We were talking about this and laughing when one of the boys walked by. Sheryl happened to be saying the word Vagina when this happened. The dude put up his hands and said Sorry Im not trying to interupt Girltalk and he sped on by. COME ON GUYS!!! But I wonder how interested they would have been if we were saying "pussy" instead...

Hee. Cripes.

One wonders at the precise context of the conversation. I wonder which gender discusses their own private parts more. Mayhaps, had you suggested to any of them that this behavior was not necessary for your benefit, they'd have been cooler about the whole thing. This, even if they were just being squeamish.

I'm vaguely reminded of one occasion on which two girls I knew met for the first time and I was privvy to at least part of their AIM discussion about (partly) me. One of them referred to me as a "womanizer." (Fairly complementary since, as I'm now the first to admit, my success has always been somewhat limited.) I made a quick quip to deny the idea that I was out for short-term flings. They then told me quite matter-of-factly that I shouldn't hide my romantic motivations.

Since then I've been more open about all of that. However, I'm certain enough that one the same girl who said that would have, in a different mood, argued passionately in favor of my becoming a monogomous thinker. ;)

Well We both argued that we weren't, in fact, having girl talk. But boys will be boys and deaf ones at that.
I'm not sure if womanizer is a compliment or an insult, i supose it depends on who is saying it and what its in referance to. Now i just asked John what he thought and I put him in your situation and he said he would take it as a compliment. This just proves to me that men are as hard to understand as women are. Thats why I like fish.

Well I've actually thought about the promiscuous bit before. I read in a book called Bitch (In praise of difficult women) By Elizabeth Wurtzle "Each woman a man sleeps with is a Trophy, one he can brag about to his friends. While For a Woman Each man she sleeps with is like a petal being plucked from a flower without limitless petals" something to that extent. While I have a different outlook in general, I see how women could feel this. There are men that I wish I handnt had slept with, That the man Im with now is so special to me that I would give him something like that. Its a peice of myself, a very special piece.
Now I dont think that being promiscuous is "slutty" I happen to think that women and men are both equal and especially in that aspect. There are times though when too much is way too much and yeah.. its slutty, but it would be slutty if you were a man too.

Btw, an example of one of your other points came up on my night out last night. I interacted with these two women out for a good time. One of them said my hat made me look like a pimp. Seemed like a compliment until she pretended she was going to take it off of me and stamp on it. =0 I guess such branding isn't always complimentary.

Also thought of bringing up the "B" word in this thread. Do you identify with women who like being thought of as a bitch? Is a woman who likes being thought of as a bitch very different from a man who likes being thought of as a womanizer?

Anyway, I'm all for women being able to troll for experience without fear of being branded slutty (forgive me if I have transparent, manly motives for such an attitude) but I wonder where you want to draw the line.

Also, can you give an example of a man who is a slut?

If you look at teenage women's clothing at all you'll see a propensity of words like "Brat" on the front. That seems to be a compliment these days too. I can't figure out why unless these are angsty people who like creating problems for people/the world to which they attribute creating problems for them.

I think the term of slut is misrepresented. I see it as a reference not so much to the number of people a person has slept with, but the intentions going into it. If you allow someone to use you for sex, then you're a slut. I guess it's sort of a spin on 'loser'.

In itself that doesn't narrow it down to disclude men, however I'm sure men never feel like they are the ones being 'used' but consider it 'getting lucky', so that's why the male slut term is so rare. Though personally, I know one.

So dubbing someone a slut is the same as dubbing them a "tool."

Also, can you divulge the identity or description of this man-slut, thereby answering my request for an example?

Oh, now that I think of it, I suppose it's not complimentary if a guy is believed to be sleeping with someone he deems unattractive or undeserving.

Ah, perhaps the situation in 54 where the straight dude has to consider submitting to the Mike Myers character's advances just because he's the boss.

I could supply a name, but I'm fairly certain it wouldn't mean anything to you. I mean it's not that he particularly gives his body to anyone, but he does look at sex to be only something to please the women- he has absolutely no desire for the pleasure himself. Though I can't figure out if that purely low self-esteem or if he's also sexist..I believe he is to an extent.

Hard to believe a guy isn't in it for the pleasure. Might just want to make sure that's not the only thing on his mind.

Anything wrong with a ladies first attitude?

Oh I know what's on his mind..he's obsessed with learning and making people happy. And he's convinced that any self-pleasure is immoral, somehow.

Lady's first attitude? I'm not sure..what would that be?

Why just prioritizing the femme's orgasm.

Your friend seems to have quite a complex going, there.

Yea he does. He's odd, but quite interesting. And supposedly it works for him, I guess.

As for the ladies first thing..no, nothing wrong with that, seems to make good logical sense actually.
