Lousy Smarch weather!

I hate Smarch in New York. It is the worst month, and it often lasts from early February until mid-April. I never went through Smarch in California, there was something else there...something to do with lions and lambs... To paraphrase Garrison Keillor, March is filled with mud and dirty snow and crusty salt.

We've only been able to take the baby out for walks a few times. Too bad, because he really likes it. He loves looking around at new things, and gets bored inside. He is a little firecracker. Everyday I am overwhelmed by how incredibly handsome, smart and friendly he is. *sigh* <3 <3

I can't even call him a "little" guy, he is so big! 17.5 pounds, and not even five months old. Chubby and big-headed, but also tall/long. He has long arms and huge hands. I think he will be much larger than either of us. I must say I am quite pleased with myself when I see how big and healthy he is, and I know that it is all from the milk I provide him. I'm just amazed that I am able to produce food. Actually, I'm still in shock that I was able to create a human being in the first place. Nursing is great, however, I am really looking forward to next month when I can start giving him other food. Hopefully, I can scale back the nursing a bit. It is nice to feed him when I am home; but pumping milk is annoying and time consuming, plus I am very "tied" to the baby - if I want to go anywhere without him for more than an hour I have to make sure there is stored milk available. Also, it means I am the only one who can feed him if he wakes up at 3 am. That reminds me, I really need to take my iron supplements!

I got my braces off last week!!! =^) Yay yay yay! I had them on for SIX years. I forgot what it is like to have a "clean" feeling mouth -- I can floss now! My mouth feels smaller. I smile whenever I remember they are off. =^)

baby, braces, smarch
