As I walked upon my dusty road
under the blazing stars,
there sat square in front a man
I swore I knew.
Deep eyes of grey
a far face drawn and fading.
He spoke a voice I vaguely knew.
"I've walked so many miles, yet
will walk so many more".
Without a word, without a gesture,
he turned to looking glass. Blinking
unabashed, it was clearly understood.
There walks no other upon this road
of mine.. streching, winding, slope to hill.
The rain will fall, the wind will throw me down,
broken, tired, and bruised I lay,
endless nights left to decay.
But through all the prices payed,
all my effort naught in vain.
Dawn will bring light to day,
my unstoppable will I must retain
for I've walked many a mile, yet I do
believe theres so much more.
