Davidson’s Benjamin Graham Named Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week
Spartanburg, SC -- The Southern Conference has named Benjamin Graham from Davidson as the SoCon Wrestler of the Week for the week of January 12.
Graham, a 149-pound freshman from Annapolis, MD, went 5-0 on the week recording two major decisions, two technical falls and one pin, leading Davidson (5-0) to its best start in 38 years. During the Wildcats’ match against Duquesne on January 7, Graham’s 15-0 technical fall over Bernie Lynch late in the match assured the Wildcats’ 29-22 win. In his last five matches Graham has scored a total of 51 points and has only had two points scored against him. On the season Graham leads Davidson with 18 wins, recording four pins.
Other top performers this week was Appalachian State’s Eric Burns, Jon Sioredas of Chattanooga, Joe Kemmerer from UNC Greensboro and VMI’s Sam Alvaerenga.
