The Return of the Dragon

Apr 08, 2008 11:49

About two years ago (or so it seems), your humble servant instituted The Dragon of Retribution Tong which was supposed to school the flat yellow butts of Asian collaborators with the Man (tm).

And then the Dragon went into hibernation. A long sleep of the just you might say? Well, no, there was just too much other stupid going on to bother with highlighting the spineless collaboration of a few yellow and sepia types.

But now.

The dragon has finally re-awoken.

Why? you might ask? The answer consists of two simple words grasshoppers and little frogs:

JOHN YOO

This smug, self-congratulatory yes-man was the author of the infamous justice department memo that basically argued that torture was OK and that the President was not bound to follow international law or even the laws of the United States in this regard if he didn't feel like it.

He is now teaching at UC Berkeley Law School, among other things his course load includes teaching Constitutional Law to first years.

Nothing is a better illustration of how far we've fallen as a society that someone who spent a good portion of his career trampling the Constitution should now be teaching it to budding lawyers to be. Talk about a failure to consider the moral ironies!!

I will personally point the laser targeter at this morally-crippled monstrosity's house when the Tong's airforce drops the SMART BOMB of DIVINE JUSTICE on his pathetic Uncle Tom ass.

Glenn Greenwald has a great post on Yoo here at Salon. There are some good links in his post to outrage from other area lawyers.

Greenwald points out that what Yoo did was essentially no different from what mob lawyers and corporate lawyers do on a daily basis.

Death's really too good for him. If I ruled the world he'd be forced to look after all the crippled families his policies have left behind.

There's been way too much puffed-up chest-pounding and "war fighting" at a fine and glorious distance from the actual cost. Asshole.

rants, collaborators, torture, the man
