(Quick) Review of Nowest
These days, the only way I'd bring myself to listen to an album is by reviewing it. So here am I reviewing Johnny's West's newest album, nowest, based on first impression.
1- Unlimited: Totally didn't expect this from the title! In a good way~! I loved it! It lightened up my mood. A great opening for the album 7.5/10
2-いま逢いたいからしょうがない: Very upbeat and fun. The chorus was my favorite part of the whole song. 6/10
3-エエやんけェ!!: To be honest, from the title I expected something extremely energetic like eejanaika and I was not wrong. I should note that the members worked their vocals weirdly here because I almost didn't recognize anyone. Very energetic! 5/10
4-大阪弁ら～にんぐ: Very random XD It reminds me so much of Hormon. Junta's tsukkomi throughout the song was epic. I don't know how this works as a song honestly. 4.5/10
5-I got the FLOW (Vocal：神山・藤井): C O O L. It was like a rap battle between kami-chan and Ryusei. They know what they are good at and they used it well. 6/10
6-You're My Treasure: This is my favorite song of the whole album and I'm saying that based on first impression. It's that good! 8/10
7-Colorful Magic: This song has an adorable Christmas-feel to it, which sounds very refreshing. I enjoyed concentrating on their mesmerizing vocals here. Absolutely one of my favorites. 7/10
8-ギラギラブベイベー: The title sounded weird to me so I expected the song would be that way too but it is surprisingly very entertaining and easy to listen to. 6/10
9-Believer: The music was just perfect in this one. It worked well in building up the cool atmosphere of the song. Another of my favorites. 7.5/10
10-雪に願いを (Vocal：濵田・小瀧): I didn't know what to expect from this one. Thought it'll be a soft ballad but I was wrong, and I'm glad I was wrong. This is uniquely too beautiful for words. 8/10
11-ボクら: An elegant song, it had its slow moments and upbeat times and I couldn't stop listening to it. 7/10
12-無鉄砲ボーイ (Vocal：重岡・桐山・中間): This song was so classy and jazz-like! Thought it would be more on the crazy side but I was mistaken. It sounds like the type you'd hear in a musical or a Disney movie. Can't wait to see it performed live. 6/10
13- One Chance: Warning: this song might get stuck in your head. It is so catchy! I hope this song becomes a reason lots of people change their views on west and see they can rock cool songs too. 6/10
Overall, this album shows that west's vocals have improved drastically. They proved that they can challenge any genre of song. I'm proud.
