This morning I was woken up by one of the cats burying under the covers behind me, venturing down over my feet and then finally coming to rest in my arms with some very loud purring.
A girl can get use to such treatment.
Even as I type, the other kitty just came up and sat on my chest.
*kittygibber*
Can you tell I'm not use to living with attention whore cats?
The move didn't really became real until Thursday morning while on the road just leaving Newcastle. Suddenly all those goodbyes sunk in, and with a car full of all my earthly possessions I nearly turned back.
Thankfully I had an engagement in Sydney to drive me onwards, after which it was too late to turn back.
Did I ever think this was all a big mistake? Oh yes.
I quite nearly stayed in Sydney. There's this boy, you see. On the SCA front, I have a shiny new consort. While what it means outside in the Real World is hazy and complicated and will quite possibly lead to nothing, it still comes with much bitter sweetness given circumstances.
All that melted away once I arrived at my new home.
I still can't believe that the keys to
de_chel's house are on my key chain.
OMGEPICWIN!
I was dragged out again almost as soon as I arrived to last night's MonUCS performance of the Mikado, with half of my stuff still in the car. It was a gorgeous night, especially the after party. While it was touch overwhelming being surrounded by all those strange new people, and being utterly outclassed by the sheer talent in the room, there was singing! Eee! I even knew some of it! Everyone I met was lovely and, erm, very friendly. Certainly not like that's a bad thing.
I really do feel like I missed out with only being a Chorister Lite when I was at Uni, but too late now I guess.
All this will sink in eventually.
Until then, I just received word that my rig is down for at least another week. 4km of the access track to site is on a creek floodplain, and that particular area has received quite a bit of rain of late...
Mmm, tasty tasty flooding. While it means I don't get paid for my time off...oh noes! I'll just have to mooch around Melbourne being adored instead *glows*
Ok, I should get up and finish emptying the car, but that would mean leaving the warm bed and the softly snoring kitty at my elbow.
*purrs really, really loudly*
