the other day, i saw a man, easily 80 years old, walking out of the mall without the aid of a cane, nurse or relative. he had in his hand, a large bouquet of the most yellow flowers i had ever seen. i think they were dandelions. he was smiling to himself in a way i imagine only 80 year old people can smile to themselves. i bet he got some that night.

he reminded me of my grandfather quiet a bit. i wish he were (insert the opposite of senile here) enough to be written to. i miss him and me grandma loads. if you went out and bought them coffee, they'd be the happiest kids on the planet. things that make you feel that good about life are harder to find that you'd think. genuine simple happiness.

meanwhile, i have this sickly sweet need to hear the Last of the Mohicans theme over and over again.
