She was having a good time, a wonderful time, and it was certainly a sad thing to have it ending so soon. But she knew a week was enough (especially for Alfred) and they would be going home today. Hypothetically. She was just slowly coaxing herself awake when she heard her name. Margaret being the least-used thing she could ever possibly be called, particularly by him, she had to assume the worse, jumping out of bed and hastily shoving her glasses onto her face to run out to him.
"What's wrong?" Maggie was, predictably, in panic mode. "What is it?"
Maggie glanced outside, expecting a ravenous bear, or perhaps a wendigo, something truely frightening and worthy of terror. She blinked, slowly, then smiled.
"Okay, that's just ridiculous. You're overreacting, Al." Going past him, she went to the front door of the cabin, pulling it open without even a bit of hesitation.
The door was promptly shut when the snow started sliding onto her feet. Maybe they would need to do some shovelling.
"You're underreacting! How the hell are we gonna dig ourselves out of here by noon? Do they even get frigging snowplows up here? ... Are they gonna charge us for extra time?"
Maggie casually brushed a piece of hair away from her face (wow that was a lot of snow, alright?) before she turned back to him. "Well, how about you call the office and I'll get dressed and get to work?"
Alfred heaved a sigh and fumbled in his pockets for his phone, pulling it out and poking at it experimentally, an increasing look of consternation on his face.
"Oh that's just fucking great. Still no service, and now the wifi's out."
"That's exactly what I hate you about," Alfred grumbled, rummaging around in the drawers for the warmest clothes he'd brought. "Being so calm about it."
"We're stuck in a cabin in the middle of nowhere with no way to contact anyone. That's like the plot of every horror movie ever. I dunno how it's gonna get worse."
"What's wrong?" Maggie was, predictably, in panic mode. "What is it?"
