"Mmph," Alfred said, turning around and smiling crookedly (and stickily) at her. "Cnn. Teefnsuck." He shrugged. "Jowlanser."

She raised an eyebrow at him, her face otherwise going to that neutral place that could just as easily be amusement as irritation. "That is all still for the kids, you know."

Alfred kissed her anyway, running his tongue along the back of his teeth until they came unstuck with a pop and he was free to slip his tongue between her lips.

"Jolly Rancher," he repeated when he pulled away. "And there's still plenty left for the kids..."

"Mmhm, I should hope so," Maggie replied, licking her lips to get the faintly sticky Jolly Rancher transfer off of them. "You're going to be tubby tomorrow if you keep this up, though."

"Not if I work it off later." Alfred bent down to pick up his fallen hat, plopping it on his head at a jaunty angle. "What do you say we get someone else to watch the sheep tonight, partner?"

She was so ready to reply to that with something equally innuendo-laden. But she just couldn't, not when he was looking at her like that and her peripheral vision was being affected by that silly bonnet she had on for the costume. So, no, he was just getting giggles out of her, because it was a hard situation to take seriously.

"We'll see, Woody."

Alfred was undeterred. Shifting his eight to his other foot, he tipped his hat up and dropped his eyelids. "I'll show you I'm no child's plaything."

That just made her laugh even louder. "You should see yourself, dear. It's hilarious."

"And by hilarious you mean sexy, right?"

"No, I just mean hilarious."

"Well you just look adorable." He put his hands on her waist and kissed her again, knocking his hat back to the floor when it bumped against her bonnet.

She chuckled against his lips as she kissed back, wrapping her arms loosely around him and resting her crook against his back. It was true, she had to admit, their costumes were both pretty endearing.

"Freaking hat," Alfred grumbled, stooping to pick it back up and set it on his head again. "No wonder he was always losing the damn thing."

"We're gonna need to glue it to your head or something there, partner." Grinning, she leaned over to kiss his nose.

"Yeah, but then I won't be mint condition." Alfred grabbed another piece of candy from one of the bowls on the counter and popped it into his mouth. "When are the kids coming, again?"

Maggie chuckled, setting her crook aside to go pour herself a glass of water. "Should be in ten minutes or so, if they're on time," she answered, with the implication that she wasn't expecting that.
