What a great year for Hugh Jackman. Two fine movies to erase all memory of X3! He is great in The Prestige, as is Bale (was there any doubt?). David Bowie is also frickin fantastic as Tesla. But really this movie is all about the story - it kept me on edge the entire time, constantly trying to guess what would happen next. I really expected the end to disappoint me but it did not at all. And I walked away understanding everything to my satisfaction (not feeling confused as fuck). It was nice.
Jon and Chris Nolan are goddamn geniuses. Originally, this movie annoyed me because it was holding up production on The Dark Knight, but now it's just got me all the more excited for the next Nolan/Nolan/Bale collaboration!
