(no subject)
Alright, so I have been dealing with this possibility for quite awhile now, but the situation has finally presented itself. My father's job is extremely stressful, he works for Customs and Border Protection as a Chief Inspector down at the Ambassador Bridge; the job, by all accounts is hectic, hard administrative work from the time he goes in to the time he leaves, every day. I'm also quite sure that the stress behind it is causing some of his health problems (ulcers anyone?) Well, he applied for a job down at the Customs training school and he was told the other day that it was his just as soon as he asked for it. He's planning on taking the job...which is in Georgia, so both him and my mom are going to move down there.
So that leaves me with the obvious question 'Do I go with them?' and at this point, I have no idea what I'm going to do. I've applied to two colleges down there, as per their request, one of them being the University of Georgia at Athens (ranked 24th in the nation) so college isn't really a problem. Unless of course I get into U of M, and if I do, I'm pretty certain I'd be staying here, but if not what then? My parents of course want me to go with them, but I am getting the feeling I need to do this just as much to start out on my own as get my education here. There's just as much pushing me to go as compelling me to stay so I'm really of two minds.
-Go and have a chance to start somewhere fresh, see new places, meet new people.
-Stay, because I love this place and a lot of the people here, and I want to live here after college anyway.
I haven't made any decisions yet, I really don't know what the hell I'm going to do, but I am certain I'll know for sure by April 2nd, either way, I know my life is soon going to change quite significantly.
