The new job

So it's almost the end of my first week as a document clerk for Wheeler, Trigg and Kennedy. Me being me, I'm constantly paranoid that I'm making mistakes left and right and that no one likes me and that they won't want me on as a permanent employee. But then my logic kicks in and says, this is only your first week, you work hard, and while you ask a lot of questions, better to ask questions and do it right than stay silent and do everything wrong. I want to stay at this firm more than anything in the world right now. I landed one hell of a position. While the title "document clerk" sounds low on the food chain, I am so happy to be where I'm at.

Downtown Denver really is a beautiful city. Everything is perfectly manicured with fountains and bright flowers and marble ledges. It's a different group of people downtown. Most of them work hard, many walk around in professional business suits, and most of them joke and laugh together on their lunch breaks. The nasty ones are arrogant, but really, they work for that sort of success. Everyday it still scares me a little to go downtown, right smack-dab in the middle of downtown, surrounded by 60-story buildings, all alone. Nothing will make you feel smaller, but then I look out the windows from a floor 36 file room and it's dizzying how high that feels.

I've got no complaints thus far. I can imagine a lot of people would hate this job, but it's a really great place to start.

And I'm really starting to daydream about that new car. I'm really torn between a Saturn Ion, Mazda 3 or Honda Civic. I like the Saturn because it's affordable and a fun, sporty coupe to represent my youth; plus since I'm from Saturn, it fits. The Mazda 3 is a sporty 4-door so I'd have more room than I'll ever have in the Geo, plus plenty of horsepower to merge on the highway; little more expensive. The Honda Civic is the reliable, practical coupe but wouldn't quite be the same sport as the other two.... we shall see!

The time comes very soon to put in my "walking papers" for Vickie's.
