(no subject)

Well, it having been nearly a week, I figured, hey, why not post? I didn't update because nothing was happening this past week. Nothing.

English started this week. While the instructor seems like a goofy, cool guy, it's still going to be a rather dull, useless class. It'll go along the lines of you like the instructor, but never feel like you learn anything about the subject they teach, just random things that are cool but don't really matter. It's more or less a writing class on the basis of "Cogito, Ergo, Sum," or, I think therefore I am, courtesy of Descartes. Oh man, the girl sitting next to me actually prounounced it the way it was spelled, with the "s" and everything... grr. It's FRENCH you genius. No S sound, don't they teach that name in history class? Oh, wait, I forgot, that's right, they're too busy prepping for the CSAP. In any case, most of the class is writing this research paper. It'll be a good paper, but well, what will I get from it, I wonder?

Intellectual property is awesome. It really is. Although, the copyright stuff dealing with software kind of dulled me, I can't say I'm way into anything other than using technology. All the other technology stuff was pretty cool, just software rights and exceptions to copyright was just... boring. My instructor is an Army reservist. He was on his two-week active duty thing, so he's been coming in cami's every day so far. I think he's done this week, so he'll be one of us next week and he won't be "Dressed like a tree," as he put it. Really cool guy. Knows his shit, because he actually practices what he teaches, unlike a lot of teachers in this world. That is an advantage with community college teachers. At least in the law department, they've all been there, done that, or are there, doing that. I like that, not quite as much "Those who can, do, those who can't, teach."

I had my orientation on Tuesday for Victoria's Secret. You know? I had a good time. It's going to be a really good fit once I get the hang of everything. Which, fortunately for me, never takes too long. We did bra fittings, and turns out I've been wearing a cup size too small for... ever. It was a big compliment, actually, find out you're between a B and C when you've been wearing an A since you first started wearing a bra. Ladies, if the clasp in the back goes up really high, you're wearing the wrong size. A bra is supposed to lay evenly all the way around, and the underwire (if there is one) should stop right where the breast tissue stops before your underarm. The new fact I've been telling everyone is that 75% of women wear the wrong bra size. I believe it, I'm one of them. Today I was supposed to go online to fill out my W-4, emergency contact, and beneficiary info (for whatever reason), but all it told me was that my information was invalid. So, time to call back tomorrow and say hey, it wouldn't work, I can't fill anything out, AND, what's my schedule for this next week? I'm so excited! I'm very happy to be there, and I've already made it known I do want to stay long-term. It's all a matter of performance, really, and I actually WANT to be there this time. Performance won't be a problem. I'll blow 'em outta the water! The general manager, Penny, already calls me "Miss Lawyer." I think the nickname is going to stick. Hehe, I like it! Of course, if she forgets your name, she just calls everyone Betty for a day.

Did anyone else here watch the cartoon Invader Zim on Nickelodeon? I never did, but I've been recently introduced and have been watching it on my Internet TV and it's such a great show! Zim is the greatest character EVER! While all the characters really are great, and Gir definitely tends to be a favorite, Zim is by far my favorite character. So, even though I couldn't really afford it, I bought myself a stuffed Zim. ;-) He got shipped yesterday so he'll be here soon! Woo! If you haven't seen Invader Zim anyone, WATCH IT.

Let's see what else... oh! I'm going to get my own insurance policy. I forwarded all my quote information to my parent's current State Farm Insurance agent, but I think I'll have to call them in order to set anything up. I shopped around a bunch of different places for cheap liability-only insurance. I was thinking that State Farm would be the most, but Geico was the most. So, I'm going to take care of that, and I also need to find out if I can start my policy in 60 days or something so I know I'll have a paycheck by the time it starts. Also, once I take care of that and all my ducks are in a row, my mom is going to sign the Geo Metro over to my name! It's paid off, so it really WILL be all mine! Then, when the time comes for me to buy a Mazda 6, my parents will give me a couple hundred to take it back so my mom can have a car for grocery shopping and errands and stuff (because that's really all that car is good for). I'd feel stingy having them pay for the car, simply sign it over to me, then pay me to take it back... but hey, it was their idea. ;-)

I'm still bored, and I will be until next week when work really starts and I'll have to prioritize my time for reading for classes, put money in my savings again, and shop around for fall textbooks (when I find out what they are, I've got a heavy law class load this fall). Yay, I love that!

And all, semi-annual sale at Victoria's Secret starts on June 21 and goes until July 12th, so if you're wearing the wrong bra size, come by the Southglenn store, I'll measure you and you can pick from Body by Victoria (really comfortable), Angels (so soft and romantic!) and Very Sexy (which I tend to favor at the moment...)
