Incredibles, worship, books, rooibos, things

So I've decided I really can't do much with the new info on the old situation. It's not going to help the situation, and nothing I do will change it.

The Incredibles is an awesome movie. =) Edna Mode was my favorite character. =) "Ed-na Mooooooooode." ::guns point at Helen:: "and guest." =D And Jack Jack was adorable. Especially at the end. ;)

RCA was quite enjoyable last night...I was glad. Heh...I was up in front like a gazillion times, but I've come to not mind that so much. As long as it's not every week, I'm all set with that! Matt led worship last night, which I was happy about. He did a good job. A little rough on some of the edges, but no one expects him to be perfect his first time leading this crowd. =) His second time though...j/k. ;) He reminds me so much of Mike Ball. I think he can sing better than Mike could, though. Mike could carry a tune, but he definitely didn't have the best voice and he knew it. =)

It's been pretty slow in terms of work so far this semester. That will change pretty soon. I've been spending a lot of my free time reading. I started Angels & Demons on Monday and then read The Da Vinci Code, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, and I'm halfway through The Screwtape Letters. I don't really know why Screwtape is taking me so long to read, but it is. I wonder how long this reading for pleasure thing will continue. I'm kind of enjoying it. =) I really enjoyed Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code...Dan Brown is a very good writer. Very fast-paced...they both reminded me of a book form of the TV show 24. I thought Angels & Demons was the better of the two, but Da Vinci definitely lived up to the hype. =) Five People was really good, too. Quick read. Pat actually recommended it and let me borrow her copy of it this weekend. I just finished it in an hour and a half. She's right, it makes you think. It's got a surprising twist at the end, but it's the twist that makes everything make sense. Now I want to read another one of Mitch Albom's books, Tuesdays with Morrie. I'm gonna have to look for more books to read. =)

I'm drinking my second to last cup of rooibos tea. I've been saving the last couple tea bags, and now I've got one cup left...I need to get some more from somewhere. Java++ sells tea from The Republic of Tea, which makes a variety of rooibos (they call it red chai, which I find ironic)...I'm gonna have to try that and see how it tastes. Either that or I'm gonna have to buy it online...it's such a wonderful tea. Even better than chai. =) Much healthier, too. It's been compared to green tea in terms of its health benefits, and yet it tastes more like a black tea. I love it. =) The fact that I remember South Africa every time I have a cup is a definitely plus.

ten random things about me:
1. I'm a tomboy. Heh...you couldn't figure that out?
2. The one sport I try my best to stay away from is basketball. Every time I touch a basketball I end up in the ER getting an ankle x-rayed. =/ The last time was the worst...gotta love tearing ligaments, too. Gah, the pretty colors that my ankle shouldn't have been.
3. Shoes are my weakness. I own a gazillion pairs of them.
4. Still waiting for my 11 & 1...but that's ok, I'll wait. Sarah, did you ever get your 11 & 1?
5. I hate when there are tons of dirty dishes in the sink. If I see that, I'll usually stop what I'm doing and clean them. And it doesn't matter if they're my dishes or not. If I know you well enough, I'll do your dishes, too. Just ask Dork and Deej. It used to be a battle every time I went over to their apartment. For some reason they didn't want me to wash their dishes! ::hands in air::
6. I'm a bit of a klutz. 0=) Yea, the whole tripping up the stairs thing...I do that every once in a while.
7. I really am not a huge fan of chocolate. I hve my favorite kinds of chocolate, but I won't eat chocolate ice cream or drink chocolate milk...and I'm not too much of a fan of chocolate chip cookies, either. I don't know why, but usually my chocolate has to have something else with it...peanut butter, vanilla, candy coating, raspberries, strawberries...something like that. Heh...I'd take potato chips over chocolate any day. 0=)
8. New Yorker by birth...and it tends to show. How do you pronounce w-a-t-e-r? 0=)
9. Now that I think about it, I scare pretty easily. (This coming after a conversation about Sam and Dave's roommate Luke...I don't think I scare as easily as he does, though.)
10. My favorite color may be blue, but when it comes to my clothes, I'm finding that black is where it's at. 5 out of 7 days (or something to that effect) I'll be wearing something black. I like black. It can be dramatic. Or understated. Whatever you want at the time. Which, for me, is great...versatility in clothing is always a great thing.

2. Find a great church to become a part of and serve in.
3. Visit China. So many people I know say they want to go to Europe someday...I'm more drawn to Asia.
4. Go back to South Africa. Specifically Cape Town and Khayelitsha, but I definitely wouldn't mind travelling around the country.

seven ways to win my respect:
1. Be honest.
2. Don't be hypocritical. At least, try your darndest not to be.
3. If something needs doing, DO it and don't let it sit there!
4. Understand when others are giving you advice and be open enough to take it!
5. Go ahead, be funny and/or silly, but please, please, please know when to stop.
6. Please...God gave you a brain...use it. You won't win my respect by being a ditz when I know you're capable of so much more.
7. Stand by your convictions, yet have an open mind and heart towards those with differing opinions.
