Reflections...
I'm in a reflecting mood. I don't know why...perhaps it's b/c I spent a lot of time today looking up companies and applying for jobs and whatnot. Or perhaps it's b/c Matt, Joe, and I were talking about some of the courses we've taken in our 3+ years here at RPI. Or maybe it's b/c I've been slowly planning this week's small group in my head and realizing that I'm the leader now- not the follower, like I used to be. Who knows...but I've realized it's the little things that have come to mean the most to me.
~Apple cider. ;) (Although, I don't think that's a little thing...)
~Cake fights. 0=D
~The "surprise" party freshman year for my 18th birthday...the one Jeff Tai pretty much gave away at dinner that night. I don't know if I ever said thank you to Stacey, Kelly, Saila, and Christy, but it meant a lot...especially with the horrible way the day started. And we proved it- you CAN fit 20 people in a room in Nason Hall! =D I have the pictures (somewhere!) to prove it!
~Niki & Meghan's small group first semester freshman year...and the worship team small group as well. Just jamming with Curtis and the rest of the team...oh, we don't do worship like that anymore...I wish we did...or could...or something.
~"Do you have plans tonight? ::pause:: Do you want some?" "That's a horrible pickup line."
~Lauren and I creating trouble the minute we stepped on campus. ;)
~Stacey locking me out of the room by accident when I was just in Raye's room...and then the crazyness trying to find my key...and sitting there "working on our Cyberlore project." =)
~Chapter retreat freshman year...the one we froze at...meeting Abigail for the first(?) time, and having really good talks with her...Jeff getting sick...meeting Greg and Mark...standing right over the fire b/c it was a freezing cold weekend...
~"I just figured you wanted his cooties more than me!"
~Cookie Monster.
~"I'll be back in half an hour." ::4 hours later:: "Mike, is Kim over there??" =D
~Skittles and Coke.
~"Mike, you smell good..."
~Lauren at the RCA chapter retreat in Feb. 2003...and her WV accent. ;) And then Sarah Kulp's reaction- she was literally rofl... =D
~Starbucks runs with Niki. =)
~Mormon Day in Saratoga Springs. ;)
~Dork showing up at my door with Starbucks when I've had a rough day. I may have scolded him for going way out of his way to bring me some, but I did appreciate it. =)
~Andy taking our IED Detailed Design Report from Judd and sticking it under his chair, keeping Judd from writing corrections all over it. I had just finished putting over 50 hours into that report, was dead tired, hadn't slept in two days, had problems printing it, was late to that class and missed the group presentation...and was ready to cry. I appreciated Andy's actions so much I could've kissed him right there in front of the entire class. 0=) And then Frank asking me if I was ok afterwards...and the team arguing to present second instead of first so I had a chance of getting there...their little actions meant so much to me.
~Dork and Andy saying "Who wants a body massage?" over and over and over the night before the DDR for IED was due. Drove me crazy, but kept me awake, that's for sure!
~Red roses and calla lilies. =) Even better than red roses and white daisies...or red and white roses. Still don't have my 11&1 (contrary to popular belief these days), but that's actually prefectly ok! =)
~Working on Digital with Marie and Mike in the DCC Cafe...and realizing we can't integrate or differentiate anymore. 0=)
~"There IS no Gate 2!!"
~Working on that stupid Fields camera project with Mike & Marie up in BARH...as much as that project sucked, I had a lot of fun doing it...shooting paper clips...for HOURS. Ordering pizza...talking to some of Marie's residents...fun times. =D
~Prospect Park. The good and the bad. It opened my eyes, that's for sure.
~ RPI Hockey...losing my voice at Dartmouth. 0;) And then seeing the ENTIRE team that first night at dinner...*whew*...HOT! ;)
~Late nights in the Union:
Jonny: "Before you know it, Dave, you'll lose your house, your truck, your dog..."
Dork: "As long as you have a shotgun."
Jeremy: "What, to shoot me?"
~Talking late into the night with the roommates...and lighting almost every candle in the house...almost. =)
~Midnight volleyball...IM Volleyball with the Fast Neutrons...just volleyball in general. And now I don't know if I'm going to play again this semester... =/
Perhaps I'll think of more later on...now it's time to go to sleep and dream sweet dreams. =)
