I read this journal often, but I hardly post in it, but this warrants a post.

Johnny Damon is now a Yankee.

At first, throughout the year when all the talk was if Damon would come to New York, I really wasn't thrilled. He's 32, his defensive skills are slightly above average, and he throws like a fucking girl.

But the more I thought about it, the more it made perfect sense. He's a leadoff hitter, which the Yanks haven't had since Chuck Knoblauch decided to start throwing the baseball in the stand when making a play on a routine groundball, he's got great speed, and he's still got a little pop in his bat(you can probably add a few more homers to his totals not that he's got the short porch in right field of Yankee Stadium to work with). And his On Base Percentage and Batting Average aren't too shabby either. Plus, not to sound like another Yankee fan asshole, but I got enough shit from Sox fans growing up that I can act up once in a while, the Red Sox are basically in shambles now. They don't have a legitimate shortstop or a centerfielder now. And if Manny gets traded (which he said that if he isn't, he's not showing up for Spring Training) than the Sox are REALLY fucked. Their run production is going to drop like a rock, and David Ortiz will finally return to Earth and revert back to his Minnesota Twins days because he won't have Manny to protect him in the lineup.

Anyways.

So yeah. You can comment if you'd like, but only if you're going to say something intelligent and with some sort of thought process. That means if you reply with, say, Yankees Suck, or something ridiculous like that, you're an idiot, and you probably havent been a sox fan long enough to know who Heathcliff Slocumb or Mike Greenwell is and you just started rooting for the sox because everyone else did, so fuck off. Everything else is cool.
