I'm gonna take my clothes off too...
Okay, so VividCon was awesome. I missed 2008 and 2009, and was generally behind on vids and vidders. But I had a great time and I'm more caught up now! I did feel a bit shy this year, and I probably could've done a better job at greeting people I didn't know. But I still met wonderful new people, such as
kuwdora and
countessmary, and it was fun to finally meet
braver_creature in person.
Some of my favorite vids were
CITIHALL* by
bradcpu, the two For Your Entertainment vids:
the Arrested Development one by
sdwolfpup and
the BSG one by
dualbunny,
Never Better by
renenet, and
On the Prowl by
sisabet and
sweetestdrain. My favorite activities include getting ready for and dancing at Club Vivid, catching up with
sdwolfpup and reviving our cheese-fries-before-Premieres tradition (we hadn't seen each other since 2007! it was criminal), and singing
breaking here's luck's brain with
sisabet,
jarrow, and
pipsqueaky. Long live Boyz II Men! I'm so sorry.
I was more nervous about Vid Review than about my Premieres vid, heh. But doing Vid Review was good because it made me actually stand in front of everybody and say something (even if it's just "Eek, I killed both mics!").
astolat was so easy to work with, and I liked how we approached the review -- by chunking the playlist into categories so that groups of vids could be discussed at the same time. I do want to emphasize that our categorization was mostly an attempt at getting the discussion going, and it was in no way meant to lock any vid to a category. Like
astolat said in her journal, it would be cool to think about other categories than the ones we proposed. In conclusion,
we reviewed ALL the vids! I probably can't get organized enough to post a proper report, but I really want to thank the concom for doing such an incredible job (really there are no words!), the volunteers for being so reliably awesome, and my peeps
pipsqueaky,
sweetestdrain, and
greensilver for being the best roommates ever. It was good to be back. &hearts
