Today was the most awesome day ever.
I got to miss school because we had to drop Cindy off at the airport for her cruise. I've never been on a cruise and I want to go on one someday. Anyways, we had to wake up at 5:30 to go to San Diego and it took us 3 hours to get there.
The drive there was boring. I slept mostly so I'll skip that part.
We dropped Cindy off and we were driving near the bay where there were all these sailboats. And my mom had to stop to use the bathroom, but we stopped right next to a cruise ship so we walked to look at it, and then on its other side we saw a pirate ship so we kept walking to look at that, and by then we couldn't stop walking.
It sucked though because I was freezing but I thought it was going to be hot today so I wore shorts and a short sleeved shirt.
Anyways, we walked to near the end of the street and there were some boats and stuff that people take for tours of the bay and whale watches and dinner/dance cruises. And we picked up some brochures because I love whales and dolphins and I thought maybe I could go on a whale watch for my birthday. But it turns out that they don't have whales around in september. just august-march so that was out.
And my mom was looking at the brochures, and then we left because our parking meter was about to run out. So then we parked across the street and walked back over.
I thought we were just going to walk up the peir a little but instead my mom bought tickets to go on a whale watch!
I was really excited because as I said, I love whales. Whales rock, if I had a whale picture I'd put it on my wall. I used to have an educational video about whales that I watched every single day.
But anyways, I started dancing around and jumping up and down in a typical me-like way, and the lady selling tickets was just cracking up and she wished me happy birthday because my mom said it was a birthday present.
My mom said I would probably hate it because I was going to freeze my ass off but I really couldn't care less.
So we got on the boat and we sat near the back.
It was a nice boat, it had 3 floors, the very very bottom were these gross bathrooms, the middle was a snack bar and a place to go to eat and just sit if you didn't like the wind, and the top was open and where I spent the whole trip pretty much. You could see everything from there and you didn't have to look out a window. It was colder up there but w/e.
At first it sucked because I thought I saw a kid from my spanish class that I don't like, but then I figured that the chances of us cutting school on the same day, going to the same city, and winding up on the same whale watch boat at the same time that early in the morning were slim to none, plus up close I saw he had a beard and the kid in my spanish doesn't have a beard. Maybe he does actually, but I don't think so.
It took forever to get out into the open ocean (it was a 3 1/2 hour trip) but we were passing this army base and there was a submarine that you could kinda see (it was supposed to be top secret, but all it had was mesh on our side and concrete on the other side so we could sorta see it) and some helicopters and really big battleships. It was cool.
And then we got out in the open ocean and I went to the front to look for whales, but it took us forever to see any.
So we all went downstairs to eat lunch, and then just as I was about to get my pizza, the guy talking on the microphone said that there were whales, so I left my mom with the food and bolted (as fast as you can on narrow stairs when the boat is rocking a lot and moving forward at the same time) up the stairs.
I got a good standing place too, I was just small enough to squeeze in between a chinese camera man and an old lady.
At first it sucked because everyone was like "Oh look!" and the guy on the microphone kept saying "they're kinda far away, but they can be seen about 12 o'clock" and I didn't see anything. The old lady next to me was pointing and telling me where they were but all I saw was the other whale watching boat far ahead of us.
And then I saw one!
All you could see was like, mist shooting out of what seemed like nowhere, but it was cool anyways.
And we got closer and they were soooooo close to the boat, it was awesome. It was great, you could see them under water and they looked white.
They were gray whales BTW.
And they'd come up for air and you could see their backs and when they stuck their tails up everyone would ooh and ahh and I thought it was so awesome! T
hey were really close at one point and I could hear them when they puffed out their air, and I wish I had a camera but we weren't really planning on going on a whale watch and I didn't have $12 on me so w/e.
It was really really cool and they were just so beautiful and it was just so unbelievable perfect! I loved it!
Then we had to head back to I went to the back of the boat to eat my pizza.
There were some guys filming something for a TV show in China and they came up and interviewed my mom and me. That was cool, I'm going to be on TV in China. I wish I knew someone in China and then maybe they could tape it or something, but I don't so w/e.
And then we left and went to Marie Calendars. If you've never had Potato Cheese soup, your missing out. It sound kinda gross but its awesome. So are Caramel Apple Empanadas from Taco Bell. But thats beside the point.
And tomorrow I get to go to Disneyland. I'm not all that excited though because I'm going with my brother, my 2 morbidly obese godmothers (who I love but they tire easily, which limits fun time. Also they fight constantly... over work, food, money, us, whatever), one of my godmother's sister (who is cool) and some of her friends who I don't know. And I think that this 5 year old is going too, and shes cute but I do believe that someone might have babysitter tatooed in their mind. But at least theres space mountain to look forward too.
I talked to Cory yesterday. He asked me what day I was coming to Florida and I told him and he said he wasn't going to be there. I came pretty damn close to crying, but then it turns out he was just going to a baseball tournament and he'll be back on friday or saturday so its ok. He said he'd see me if I wanted to see him, which I thought was cute and kinda funny because everytime I look in the mirror I think about seeing him and I start hoping that he won't think I'm ugly. Not that he ever called me ugly, but this other guy at my church named Jeb said I was fat all the time. I look different now. I got my hair cut and I lost like 15 lbs. I'm still fat though, in my opinion, but nobody calls me fat anymore and more guys seem to like me now. The wrong ones unfortunately, like friend's exboyfriends and creepy guys with girl's voices who follow me and my friends around and say hi to me only when I'm alone and beg money off me even though I don't know him (I'm obviously thinking of one specific person, there aren't 2 people like that. Just one, thank god. His names Daniel. Hes creepy.)
So thats a rundown of my day and whats on my mind currently. Sorry its kinda long.
