So Jason and I were invited to a dinner gather by his grandmother for Jason's aunt at the Bamboo Bar & Grill on Alki. They had arrived there at 5. But because Jason didn’t get off work till 5, had to come home and pick me up, and then we couldn’t find the place because he had the wrong address. So by the time we got there everyone was 2/3's done with their food. So I'm taking this into account, that because of this they might have rushed our food a little bit.
First of all I need to mention the fact that this place is called Bamboo, but is completely decorated in a surfer theme, no Bamboo anywhere.
So Jason ordered the Ahi (rare) ($9.95), with came with a side of veggies (broccoli & carrots) and a side of mashed potatoes. When they brought his Ahi they had obviously over cooked it, it's was definitely medium rare/medium. But that's what we get for coming late. His was also supposed to come with a cup of Black Bean Soup, which the waitress forgot about until 2/3's if the way through his dinner. Then Jason told her to not worry about it but she brought it anyways. It was warm, defiantly not hot. And the beans were under cooked.
I had ordered the Crab Cake Burger ($9.95) which came with a side of fries. I was a lot happier with my dinner than Jason's. The actual crab cake patty was a little smaller than I thought it would be, but the flavor was pretty good and it was piping hot. Served with the regular burger topping, minus the aioli mayo. The fries to obviously old and served warm not hot. But over all I was pretty pleased.
I think Brei ordered Seafood Pasta Bowtie ($14.95) which, according to their website, includes Halibut, Salmon, and Prawns in a garlic cream sauce. I don’t know the official word on her dinner, but it seemed like she enjoyed it without any issues.
According to their website menu they also serve breakfast, which I'm a little bit interested in checking out.
