Our Sex in the City party went swimmingly. We had a wine and cheese pairing and you know what, I'm pretty damn good at picking out wine. We had some Riesling (granted it's hard to go wrong there) and some champagne. For the cheese I selected Colby because it's American. I figured if I was going to get a French cheese it would be tacky if it was made in the United States, so I just went one that was domestic in the first place. I hadn't ever watched the last episode of Sex in the City. I have to say that is the best ending to a show I've ever seen. I cried three times. Amazing.
So yeah I'm going to be cancelling my netflix. Don't get me wrong, I love their service but I'm getting Tivo. Yeah I'm super excited. They are running this promotion where they give you the DVR for free if you sign up for years service. The best part is that you don't have to pre-pay. It's kind of like when you sign a contract to get a wireless phone. I just have really missed having a show. I used to watch Friends, Seinfeld and other shows every week and now I'm just too busy to get into a show and I kind of miss it. SO the service is 12.95 a month, which means it's about 3 dollars cheaper than netflix. I figure I won't have time to watch my netflix movies anyway if I'm going to be watching the shows that I have recorded.
