Every morning from about 8 o'clock my neighbour in the adjacent apartment spends his mornings praying in a monotonic drone whilst occassionally ringing a bell. The walls are obviously not very sound-proof so I'm going to have to be careful whenever my girlfriend comes around (or anyone else for that matter).
For the last month I was busy with an assignment for uni and now I have to get myself motivated again to start studying for the second assignment.
Work has certainly been a challenge. Difference between this job and the previous one is that there is now more responsibility for my students' ability to learn and therefore more pressure. This has resulted in lessons that are often a lot more focused and not so much fun as before. The change is a challenge for me as I now have to get used to a redefined role and relationship with my students. Before, all I had to be was the occassional party organiser for students whom I visited once every 2 months on average. It was not so much a problem how much or how fast they learned English so long as they were using the language and having fun. Now on the other hand, every week my students have a set schedule with pre-determined target structures that they are required to learn and these are clearly transmitted to parents. Fortunately for me my boss is open to suggestions on improving the curriculum and this has allowed me to be more involved in my teaching, making my job a lot more interesting.
