Just a short post with a few more photos from Kyoto, mostly from this small English Pub (can't remember the name) we stopped in for lunch.
Sorta like
Smash Head in Nagoya, this place was full of toys, games and other fun stuff. Our waiter was really cool (not to mention quite easy on the eyes.) He encouraged us to...play. And we did. For lunch, we both ordered -- what else -- fish & chips, the house specialty (so said the menu.) For whatever reason (still not entirely sure), I totally loved this place and hope to go back one day.
There was a small notebook on our table filled with comments, stories, songs and doodles contributed by patrons both local and visiting.
I left my own message, but didn't photograph it. Maybe it'll wind up in someone else's journal somewhere in the world? OK...maybe not. lol.
The other side of the room...
We entertained ourselves while waiting for our food to be served.
ROUND ONE
D'oh! Wah wah wah...
ROUND TWO
Huzzah! :) And we're tied...
And then our food arrived...
Our waiter with our drinks...he was a fast mover! I was pretending to photograph the restaurant when I was really waiting for him to appear from the kitchen. hehe. I snapped the photo as soon as he appeared and he apologized cuz he thought he'd gotten in the way. Sneaky....
Fish & Chips
After lunch we stopped by a local park...not many photos...
So, we had a great day in Kyoto. As I said previously, the city was a bit underwhelming at first, but by the end of our daytrip, I was a fan. Hopefully we'll go back soon.
We returned to Nagoya around 8pm or so. Jerome and Lea were preparing dinner; Tomek was on his way over (photos coming up...)
Back at Nagoya Station.
