So, I turned...older...this past weekend. I've gotten to the point where I don't really care to celebrate the day anymore because past 30 the only birthdays that matters are in increments of ten...40, 50, 60 and so on until you die. All the birthdays inbetween just seem kinda silly...like training wheels. I can't explain it. That said, I DID celebrate the current inbetween birthday this year with friends over Sunday brunch at
Rodan. I was a little concerned about whether or not brunch was appropriate, since a sit-down meal reduces one's ability to mingle, but it turned out great. I managed to take a few photos.
Josh and
Sen took more. Anyway, some of us went to Oberweis for ice cream afterwards (giant kids that we are)...mmmmm...tasty.

Sen channeling MacGuyer. Someone had etched "Slayer" into the table; he's trying to capture it by reversing and hand-holding his lens, mimicking a macro. It worked!
Anyway, yah...as I said, not very many photos. I didn't get photos of everyone who was there. :( :( :(
But wait, there's more! Two friends celebrated birthdays recently, plus another threw a party to celebrate the end of grad school/the beginning of the post-doc. So, here are a few, random photos from all that because it's not all about ME. ;) Be warned: there are a lot.
Sam's B-day
Taken by Regina... (referring to this photo, Tristan said "If your mom saw that..." and shook his head, lol)

Regina and Sam...
Tristan is laughing at this card we got for Sam. On the cover is a photo of a 1970's mom in her 1950's kitchen. On the inside the caption reads: "Why did I come in here again? Oh, yeah...to fart." Hysterical.
Dave's B-day
I can't remember specifics, but this party had a "cheap booze" rider attached to it. ;)

Hungry Nat.

Sen and Victoria threw a party to celebrate all of Victoria's hard work! PhD at last... :)
We were practicing poses for his album cover. ;)
Shortly after this photo was taken, Tristan and Sen jammed a little on Sen's piano, but for some silly reason, I don't have any photos of that...oy!
