My random thoughts on creating Wealth for yourself, your family, and your descendants:
1. Eat IN, not out. Learn to cook. Learn to love simple food. As I'm a Southerner and the son of a carpenter and a farmer, I should know this by now and have my own garden, which would make this process even cheaper.
2. Be pound wise and penny foolish, if you must. There is truth in that you have to spend money to make money. But, pennies do add up. I think that Jeffrey Fox said, "Be a penny watcher, not a penny pincher."
3. Buy real estate. Buy lots of land without houses. Sell part of the land to get money to build a house. Build a house on part of the land. Sell the house to get money to build two houses on another part of the land, then sell those houses. At this point, if you bought and sold wisely, you should have Money In The Bank.
4. Do your own home maintenance. I replaced a fill valve on a toilet yesterday. It cost me $3.15, plus the drive to Home Depot and the time it took me to learn all about toilets so I could diagnose the problem. Incidentally - I was able to replace Fluidmaster Fill Valve #1788 with Fluidmaster Fill Valve 35837 or something. Guess the company makes a good valve - it hasn't changed AT ALL in nearly 50 years.
I have biscuits to bake and other domestic things to do. Feel the love, folks. :)
