I'm currently spending some time in my room. I'm tired of spending time with the rest of the Americans here. I really didn't come to Japan to spend all my time with Americans. But, for the moment, I'm chillin in my room cause I'm really not feeling well, and I feel like blogging.
We had orientation today at 10, and it was fairly interesting. It wasn't a grand thing-- I just bought my textbook, took a tour around campus (and our guide was an Australian who works in the international house), bought a lunch card, had lunch, and went to the library to get my card (OMG their manga collection is GINORMOUS!!) I mean, I know this is a manga school, but jeez. ^^;
But we also got a huge surprise when I went to orientation! We're all getting about a $500 refund check because we were charged too much. Everyone's pretty pyched.
Anyway, to answer a few questions, I ended up taking a taxi to the school-- it cost a whopping 3000円, but I shared the cab with Jon, another person who's in the program, so it wasn't too bad. I had to pay the total, but he payed me back today.
Have I mentioned how expensive things are around here? One of the girls from the program went the local market to buy some fruit, and came back with ONE apple that cost her 200円! ２００！！！！ Holy crap!
Anyway, classes start tomorrow, and we meet everyday-- level 1, the one I'm in starts at 9:50 and ends at 10:00 AM. I'm fairly disappointed, I wanted class to be longer, really. I mean, if I'm here to study Japanese, might as well go all out, right?
Oh yeah, everyone, I'll be getting Skype, and free online talking service, which is pretty damn badass, so if my RL (and some NIRL) friends feel like talkin to me, go sign up. You just need a microphone. ;)
Also! I figured out how to spell my university's name. (I've been trying to figure it out for a while now >>;)

In Romanji: kyouto seika daigaku
In English: kyoto seika university
