i have spiders that live on my car. about a dozen of them. every morning there is at least two new webs on each side-view mirror, and plenty covering the bike rack on the back. when i start to drive they all hide in their respective places (inside the bike rack, behind the mirror) and endure the 60 mph winds. it destroys theirs webs. every day. and yet, every morning they weave new webs. i feel badly for them, but i kinda feel like they are dumb to keep spinning in such a destructive place. then i thought (i WAS high at the time): maybe insects are smarter than we think and are capable of learning the location of spiders webs. maybe, just maybe, it is advantageous for the spiders to travel across the state with me over and over because they have a constant supply of unsuspecting insects....? maybe im just hoping that they arent as dumb as they seem.
this past weekend erick and i had a "just us" weekend. the first in a long time. it was absolutely perfect. we stayed in a romantic bed and breakfast, went to the corning museum of glass (holy shit was that awesome!!) explored some more of our awesome state parks, and just spent the weekend getting even closer than ever. talked about the future....
i am constantly amazed by erick, and "us." lately i feel like im biding my time until we can explore this thing more fully by living in the same area. as my friends trickle out of buffalo, or just drift away in buffalo, it seems to make more and more sense to go to where the support is.
i will miss the shit out of joe. so often my saving grace.
next stop: adirondacks!! we are camping in these secluded islands you have to canoe to! im totally pumped. bought new hiking shoes and got all my gear out of the attic. next week im going to suck it up and buy a tent because its ridiculous that i dont own one and im sick of always having to borrow.
then...san fran in a few more weeks!
france is on the horizon.
kirsten moves here in less than two weeks! if only emily would move back to the neighborhood.....
thats about it for now.
